As an industry expert in charming, character-filled furniture for hire, Sharriee Blair knows a thing or two about what ensures a wedding day is a true reflection of a couple.
What’s the biggest wedding trend you’ve seen in the last year?
A common trend that I have seen lately would have to be people having their weddings on their own properties. This brings a more personal touch towards the wedding. Also, caravan bars and a variety of specialty tents have been popping up a lot this year.
What was the most memorable wedding you’ve worked on and why?
It’s hard for me to choose just one, but this season we filled a huge Sperry tent with my vintage range of colourful velvet furniture and rugs. Upon talking to the groom the following day, he told me that by far my furniture was the most remarked upon, memorable part of their wedding, which made me feel really good.
What do you think makes a great wedding?
A great wedding consists of celebrating with the people you love in an awesome atmosphere with loads of wine to boot!
What’s the most wonderful thing about getting married in the Rutherglen region?
I've worked with many of the venues and suppliers within the Rutherglen region, there's such a good variety to choose from. Oh, and did I mention the wine?
Is there one mistake you see many couples make?
Don't allow other people’s opinions to rule over your day. Do what's true to you, after all it's your day and you can do whatever you want to.
What’s your best tip for couples planning their wedding?
Get a brilliant photographer to capture every special moment and make sure to savour the day, it will be over before you know it.
