Your Rutherglen Wedding Week

Just because YOLO it doesn’t mean going into overdrive before you get hitched. When your best day is in Rutherglen you’ve got more reasons than most to chill out and enjoy your entire wedding week. With an impressive lineup of luxurious relaxation options or simply enjoying the great outdoors, there’s plenty of choices for downtime. And by making a week of it you can schedule intimate get togethers, catching up with your nearest and dearest while everyone’s in the same place.

Day 1: Make it real

Having just spent the past week preparing for a break away from work, your brain’s fried, as is your partner’s. This isn’t a day to see other people. Instead, reconnect with each other over a good long walk. Popular spots include the Lake Moodemere trail, Willows Reserve and the Tommy McRae track. Follow it up with a quiet night in and enjoy a great sleep with all that fresh country air in your lungs.

Day 2: Rancho relaxo

Start the day as you mean to go on - relaxed and ready for anything that comes your way. Book in for a spa treatment at Circa 1936 where couples packages include 90 minute relaxation, foot bath and massage, or a longer session followed by gourmet refreshments and a glass of local wine. You could also try The Silken Dragonfly or nearby remedial and hot stone massage therapists.

Day 3 : Lunch with your tribe

You don’t want your besties talking smack about how stressed you’ve been and fall out forever. Book lunch with your tribe and make sure your partner does the same, but elsewhere! This meal is for the ones who’ve been with you through thick and thin - you deserve some time together. Top picks include Pickled Sisters Cafe, All Saints Estate, Ripe at Buller Wines, Tuileries Restaurant and Jones Winery.

Day 4: The family dinner

Gather as many of your family members together and head out for a joint meal. When it’s just them, your partner and yourself it’s the perfect time for everyone to get to know each other. A few skeletons may fall out of your respective closets, but it’s all in good fun and makes for beautiful memories! You might like a simple pub meal, or head to the Tuileries Restaurant which is open seven nights a week.

Day 5: Keeping it simple

Get back to basics today. You’ll have last-minute things to tick off your list, a venue visit and quick run through of your speech. Whether you catch up with the gang for lunch or dinner, try to keep some part of the day relatively unscheduled. You could opt for brunch instead at one of Rutherglen’s many fabulous eateries. Head to Zest for gorgeous macarons or a enjoy a local tasting platter from James + Co.
