St Leonards Vineyard
Jodie Talbot is the Private Events Coordinator for St Leonard's and hosts dozens of couples on their wedding day each year – so we asked Jodie from picturesque wedding venue St Leonards Vineyard, for her best insider tips and tricks.
What’s your favourite part of a wedding?
A wedding day is special. I love seeing the love between the couples when they first see each other as the bride walks down the aisle. I also love listening to the vows they are promising each other.
Biggest wedding trend you’ve seen in the last year?
Many couples are choosing to go with a banquet-style menu.
Is there one mistake you see many couples make?
Not making time to spend with each other on the day! It’s important to remember what the day is all about. Make sure you have plenty of time together, as the day will fly by.
What’s your biggest tip for couples planning their wedding?
Try your best to get everything organised as much as you can 3-4 weeks prior. This way you can relax and enjoy the build-up of the last few weeks before your big day. There’s nothing worse than racing around and getting stressed at the last minute.
What’s the most wonderful thing about getting married in the Rutherglen region?
You can turn a one-day celebration into a weekend, or even a whole week! It’s a romantic region with plenty of friendly locals and country charm.
You can meet Jodie from St Leonards Vineyard (and ask her everything you want to know about pulling off a dream-worthy wedding!) at the Love + Light Wedding Festival, to be held in Rutherglen on February 16-17, 2019. You can find more info here and buy your tickets here
