How Many Questions is Too Many Questions When it Comes to Your Venue?

Don’t hold back when it comes to querying your venue, argues Stuart and Sue from the stunningly rustic venue Springhurst Butter Factory.

Why are you passionate about what you do?

We are fortunate to own our grand old building and love to share it with others to enjoy the atmosphere it creates.

Is there one mistake you see many couples make?

Forgetting about themselves on the day and worrying too much about everyone else.

What was the most memorable wedding you’ve worked on and why?

We hosted a wedding last year and both the bride and groom were very accomplished actors and singers. Whilst everyone was seated in the barn, the bride and groom were introduced to the audience, then immediately went straight to the band and started singing a duet of Johnny Cash and June Carter’s "Jackson”. From then, the place just jumped up and down all night. Many of the guests remarked to me that this was the best wedding they had ever been to.

What’s the most wonderful thing about getting married in the Rutherglen region?

Wine, weather and the beauty of the region.

What are your words of wisdom for couples planning their wedding?

Ask questions. We aim to make it the best it can be!

Have more questions? Ask Stuart and Sue when you see them at the Love + Light Wedding Festival in Rutherglen on February 16-17, 2019. Find more info and buy your tickets here.
